Back-End Developer (Junior)

About the role

Design and build robust API endpoints, database schemas, and server-side logic for Skaly's SaaS platform. You will work with Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Prisma in a production environment serving clients across multiple countries.

What you will do

• Build and maintain RESTful API routes using Node.js / Next.js API routes
• Design and manage PostgreSQL database schemas with Prisma ORM
• Implement authentication, authorization, and data validation
• Write comprehensive tests for API endpoints
• Collaborate with front-end developers to define and document API contracts
• Optimize database queries and server-side performance
• Handle integration with third-party services (payment gateways, email, storage)
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews

What we are looking for

• Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles
• Working knowledge of Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with SQL databases and basic query writing
• Understanding of authentication patterns (JWT, sessions)
• Ability to read and write clean, maintainable code
• Good written English for async communication

Nice to have

• Experience with Prisma ORM or similar
• Familiarity with serverless functions (Vercel, AWS Lambda)
• Knowledge of email sending (SMTP, SendGrid, Nodemailer)
• Prior work on a multi-tenant SaaS application
